CONTRARY TO rumors circulating, SLR or DLSR cameras are not banned on campus. To prevent unauthorized commercial use of photos, however, students have to secure a permit from the Office of Administrative Services before taking photos.

SANGGUNIAN PRESIDENT Gio Tingson had been the subject of Internet controversy in the past month due to articles linking him to actress Christine Reyes. Tingson said that the issue was hyped up and that he and Reyes are good friends. “Nahiya ako kasi nadadawit and pangalang ng Ateneo,” he said, adding that he even apologized to the Loyola Schools Vice President.

FINE ARTS student Marvin Velasco won second place in the Linggo de Lingua Europa logo making contest. Velasco, along with the first and third place winners, both from UP Diliman, will be recognized in a press conference to be held on September 3.

IN THIS year’s State of the Nation Address, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo acknowledged University President Fr. Bienvenido Nebres, SJ for his program, the Main Education Highway towards a Knowledge-Based Economy.
