Fr. Fermin, 46, succumbs to illness

Former Ateneo Grade School Headmaster Jose Moises Fermin, SJ, more known as Fr. Joey Fermin, passed away on January 5 due to respiratory failure caused by pneumonia. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis on late 2007. He was 46.
His body lies at the Sacred Heart Novitiate Cemetery at Novaliches, Quezon City.

Journ contest-workshop highlights new media

THIS YEAR’S Press Play, an intercollegiate contest and advanced journalism workshop organized by The GUIDON and The LaSallian, focused more on journalism and its movement towards online media.
“We’ve been reading about print journalism starting to fade and [how] all the printing presses will close down because of the online medium,” said Project Head and GUIDON Externals Manager Margaret Michelle Tan (IV BS CTM).
The workshops were held in the Ateneo on January 17. The competition, was opened on December.
