LOOKING TO further solidify their consistent command of the court, the Ateneo Men’s Lawn Tennis Team is gearing up for UAAP Season 87 with an insatiable appetite for supremacy. After finishing Seasons 85 and 86 in bittersweet fashion with two consecutive silvers, the Katipunan-based squad has gone all-in on upgrading their defensive capabilities and offensive strategies. Team Captain Gabriel Stefano Gurria and Co-captain John David Velez now take the mantle, leading the team’s anticipated rise to dominance. Despite the loss of last season’s Rookie of the Year Axl Gonzaga, the roster is heavily geared with the return of seasoned veteran Jonelle Christian Llavore—who is joined by new additions Rafa Mendoza, Aidyll Ignacio, JB Cuarto, and Gian Camingue. Having fallen just short of glory in the past two years, the Blue Eagles are determined to finish the job and finally hoist the trophy for the Blue and White faithful.
