RIDING THE momentum of last year’s Final Four appearance, the Ateneo Baseball Team (ABT) is banking on both familiar and new faces to make another run this Season 87. This iteration of Blue Eagles aims to recreate another podium finish—or even snag the UAAP crown. With notable veterans like Ethan Mitschiener and Joaquin Casanova departing from the collegiate diamond last season, Team Captains Alejandro Mendoza, Dax Fabella, and Zeke Laygo are set to drive the run of a hungry Ateneo squad. The dependable arms of Joshua De Juras and Manuel Senador lead the pitching rotation, while veteran sluggers Angelo Bernardo and Enzo Montemayor provide batting power behind the plate. To balance the team’s experience and veteranship, a pack of rookies featured by Luis Magsadia, Lucas Atendido, and Rafael Aquino bring fresh presence and vigor to the field. Having stayed sharp during the offseason with their participation in the LBP Tingzon Cup, the ABT remains dead set on bringing home the coveted UAAP crown for the first time since Season 79.
