AFTER AN underwhelming UAAP Season 81 which saw the Blue Eagles finish with a 1-11 record, the Ateneo Softball Team is looking to finally break the string of bad runs this upcoming season.

Despite the loss of some key veterans such as Team Captains center fielder Margaux Perez and pitcher Therese Macasaet, the Blue and White still boast a solid core of experienced players. Senior Team Captains Sophia Santos and Martina Nacion are expected to steady the ship and give the team the calming presence they need in the dugout.

Entering the Blue Eagle bullpen this season are promising rookies who are looking to make noise in their first playing year. All products of Westminster High School, former National Team pitcher Katrina Ditchon, pitcher Mary Jane Beronilla, and catcher Genesis Degollacion already possess ironclad chemistry that will help in the Blue and White’s efforts this year.

With Head Coaches Randy Dizer and Joy Lasquite still at the helm, expect the Blue Eagles to be recharged and driven this season as they try to land the much-awaited Final Four berth for Ateneo.
