Men’s Fencing

WITH THE return of fencing on the horizon, the Ateneo Men’s Fencing Team will look to lunge through clouded expectations in an attempt to finally nab the championship banner. A valiant fight in the finals of UAAP Season 82 found the Blue Eagles finishing strong in second place overall. The team also garnered podium finishes in all fencing events, including a gold outing in Individual Foil.

Individual Sabre medalist Daniel Britanico will carry his success during his rookie year over to Season 85 as the newly-heralded team captain. Ryan Janeo makes a return as the head coach, while Edward Daliva, Ruperto Endriano, and Veena Nuestro will take the coaching duties for the Sabre, Foil, and Épée categories, respectively.

Despite a three-year absence from UAAP play, the team is en garde and more prepared than ever before. Witness the Blue Eagles shake off the rust as their sheer tenacity and sharpened blades give them the edge in their return to the piste.
