THE ATENEO Women’s Judo Team has rearmed and reloaded for UAAP Season 85, as grizzled veterans and eager rookies begin a new era of Ateneo judo. While UAAP Season 82 was an underwhelming affair for the Blue Eagles—with only one silver medal to boot—current Team Captain Roni Lapuz has been pushing the team towards new heights.

Spearheading the team’s redemption campaign are Lapuz and co-captain Elyssa Pua, both experienced veterans who are more than capable of leading the rookie-laden team. These two Atenean athletes are more dangerous than ever—having worked on their craft since the conclusion of their Season 82 campaign.

Complementing the veterans is the team’s treasure trove of new talent. Rookies Yza Claravall, Ronnie Nolido, Maxine Mababangloob, Yogy Castillo, Al Pimentel, Janelle Runes, and Julliana San Ramon are a potent mix of energy, ferocity, and excitement as they all launch their UAAP debuts this coming Season 85. Fans can expect no less than a tremendous showing from the Ateneo Women’s Judo Team as they look to sit on top of the UAAP once more.
