THE ATENEO Men’s Beach Volleyball Team (AMBVT) is dusting off the rust and ready for battle after a tough denial into the final playoffs last UAAP Season 84. Despite climbing to the fourth spot with three wins and three loses, the Blue Eagles were knocked down by the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in a 0-2 sweep, finishing at fifth place.

Having previously stood at the cusp of the Final Four has the AMBVT looking forward to the next season, once again ready to conquer the sands. For the upcoming tournament, Team Captain Abai Llenos will be joined by Amil Pacinio as his main partner, while Jian Salarzon will be standing by as the squad’s reserve. Llenos shared that the team is taking concrete steps to ascertain a stronger performance. “[Gusto namin] i-refine yung skills namin and to gel better sa sands ([We want] to refine our skills and to gel better in the sands),” said the fifth-year volleyball veteran.

Despite looming challenges, the high-flying trio of Llenos, Pacinio, and Salarzon are bound for greatness this UAAP Season 85.
